Research Themes

Our research themes are related to the following topics:

  • LTE-Advanced Systems (from 4G to 5G and beyond)

    • Interference management in wireless networks
    • Exploitation of feedback mechanisms for increased spectral efficiency and reduced latency/complexity
    • Relaying strategies and collaborative communications for Cellular and Mesh networks
    • Computer Modeling of broadband communications (Propagation + Link)
    • Embedded systems for reconfigurable/multimodal radio
  • Service Oriented Architecture for 4G, 5G and beyond

    • Agile Network Service Delivery Platform
    • Flexible & Programmable SD-RAN Platform and SD-CN Platform
    • Low Latency SDN-based MEC Platform
  • Wireless M2M Communications

We are studying LTE/LTE-advanced access-stratum enhancements in terms of low-cost and low-power devices targeting massive machine type communication. The impact of machine type traffic pattern on MAC/PHY procedures and low-layer signaling as well as on implementation architectures are also considered using the OpenAirInterface.org emulation and RF platforms.

  • Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS):

we develop and analyze vehicular communication solutions providing the required information for future ITS applications in the domain of traffic safety, traffic efficiency and comfort. We rely on the iTETRIS simulation platform or the OpenAirInterfance for the evaluation of our solutions.

  • Internet of Thing and Web of Things

  • Mobile Edge Computing
