Using cooperative game theory in two applications

Game theory is a versatile tool that can be applied in very different contexts. Here I present two applications of the power indices, which are indices aimed at ranking object according to their importance in a situation modeled as a game. The first application is to the so called microarray games, and the semivalues, which are relevant power indices, are used in order to rank genes potentially responsible of genetic diseases. In the other application we use semivalues to find ?good? extensions of a given ordering from a set of object to its power set. This has interesting applications for instance in Social Choice Theory.
