Abstract: IVADO is Canadian research, training and knowledge mobilization consortium in artificial intelligence, located in Montreal, at the interface of university and industry, dedicated to transforming new scientific discoveries into concrete applications and benefits for all of society, driven with one profound conviction: data and algorithms are changing the world we live in, and they offer incredible potential for innovation. In this presentation, we will look at lessons learned from the last 7 years of existence, and present how the recently launched R3AI program (2023-2030), will address the challenges ahead of us all (climate change, supply-chain and healthcare issues), by attempting to design an AI that is robust, reasoned and responsible. Bio: Geographer and PhD in civil engineering, Jean-François Bruneau led collaborative research projects in the domain of roadway design, traffic management, road safety and mobility. Former professor in Geomatics at Université de Sherbrooke, Canada, he his now managing research partnerships at Université de Montréal for the Interuniversity Research Centre on Enterprise Networks, Logistics and Transportation, mainly developing AI and operations research projects at the Institute for Data Valorization (IVADO). He has a special interest for autonomous and connected vehicles, interactions between vehicles and vulnerable users, and intelligent mobility. jean-francois.bruneau@ivado.ca https://ivado.ca/en/ https://www.cirrelt.ca/default.aspx
