French Proficiency

ADMISSION

French proficiency requirement for admission by program:

  • Master of Engineering (Diplôme ingénieur):
    • 1A - first year program: no French proficiency required
    • 2A - second year program: A1 French proficiency required
  • All Master programs (DNM): no French proficiency required
  • Post-Master program: A1 French proficiency required 

 

Documents accepted for French proficiency verification:

  • Official test score (DEFL, TFI, DCL FLE, DALF, TCF)
  • Official school French proficiency attestation/certificate indicating proficiency level (for partner institution only (Exchange and Dual Degree program))

 

Attention: test score and/or certificate must be within 2 years of admission file being submitted

 

FLE

Early September each year, EURECOM provides a complimentary FLE intensive program for all admitted students with a French proficiency below A2. Enrollment into this program is automatic upon admission.

This program is about 2-3 weeks long and provides an introduction to French language and culture, as well as one-day trips to Antibes, Nice and surrounding areas. This facilitates the integration into France of international students.

Additionally, FLE courses are also provided throughout the academic year.

  • Post-Master program: B2 French proficiency required
