Chiara Galdi, supervised by Professor Jean-Luc Dugelay,  is once again in the spotlight with her thesis. She had already won the prize of the Best thesis 2015/2016 of the Italian section IEEE Biometrics. Her thesis dealt with the "Design and Development of multi-biometric systems". This time, it is with the most innovative part of her thesis, published in the article "Multimodal Authentication on smartphones: Combining and Iris Recognition Sensor for a Double Check of User Identity" that she won the prestigious Biometrics Research and Industry Award 2016 by the European Association! Congratulations !

On Monday, September 26th, EURECOM will welcome its new promotion 2018, that is to say 132 new students from 23 different countries! Welcome everyone, and all our best wishes for this new school year!

Congratulations to Pietro Michiardi and his co-authors from three partner organizations, who have won the Best Paper Award for their paper "Access-time Aware Cache Algorithms" presented at the ITC2016 congress (28th International Teletraffic Congress) that was held from September 12 to 16 in Würzburg, Germany. This is the 4th Best Paper Award received for 2016 and the 9th award in all categories.

Sosina Mengistu GASHAW  received a Best Poster Award of the BMW EURECOM-TUM summer school, for her poster: "Mixed traffic flow with 2-wheelers: Macroscopic modeling and analysis". The summer school is organized by the BMW Group Resarch and Technology, Technical University of Munich and EURECOM, from 18 to 23 July 2016 at Lake Tegernsee south of Munich, in Bavaria

Congratulations to the new Doctor Duy-Hung PHAN, from the Data Science Department (supervised by Pietro Michiardi, Professor and Head of the Data Science Department) who has successfully defended his thesis on Monday, 18th of July 2016!
The topic of his thesis was « Efficient and Scalable Aggregation for Large-scale Data-intensive Applications ». It was the seventh defended thesis at EURECOM in 2016. 

The 24th class of EURECOM engineers will be honored on September 16, 2016 for the graduation ceremony, patroned by Dr. Rudolph Schwarz, CEO of IABG. 

Congratulations to Grigory Antipov and Jean-Luc Dugelay who won a double reward (Best Paper Award and 1st Place Award) for their paper "Apparent Age Estimation from Face Images Combining General and Children-Specialized Deep Learning Models" presented at the 29th edition of IEEE CVPR conference (Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition). Their work in Deep Learning / Soft Biometrics brilliantly distinguished themselves during the most important conference on computer vision.

Congratulations to Massimiliano Todisco, Hector Delgado and Nick Evans who received a Best Paper Award for their paper called "A new feature for automatic speaker verification anti-spoofing: Constant Q cepstral coefficients" presented during the Odyssey workshop 2016 which took place in Bilbao in Spain, from June 21-24, 2016.

Congratulations to the new Dr. Monir AZRAOUI, of the Digital Security Department (supervised by Refik Molva and Melek Önen) who successfully defended his thesis on June 7th, 2016!
His PhD topic was the "Verifiability and Accountability in the Cloud". It is the sixth PhD thesis of the year at EURECOM.
