  • Robin Thomas completed his BSc. Electrical:Information Engineering degree from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa in Dec 2008.
  • Thereafter he obtained a fully funded scholarship from the Sentech Chair in Broadband Wireless Communications at the University of Pretoria where he completed his graduate honours degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. He then went on to complete his Masters in Engineering (MEng.) in Electronic Engineering also from the same university in September 2012.
  • During the course of his Masters  in 2011, he pursued a 5 ½ month internship at EURECOM (in collaboration with Prof. Raymond KNOPP and Dr. Bassem ZAYEN), which was in line with his Master's thesis related to the optimisation of time-of-arrival (TOA) localization techniques in cognitive radio.
  • In February 2013, he joined the PhD programme in EURECOM under the supervision of Prof. Raymond KNOPP and co-supervision of  Prof. B. T. MAHARAJ (University of Pretoria) and is actively  involved in research related to interference-aware transceiver designs for hostile communication scenarios.
  • His research interests include interference awareness, heterogeneous networks, cognitive radio, dynamic spectrum access and intelligent positioning systems.
